The Process
We require the Log book of the vehicle to enable us to Scrap your car. As an Authorised Treatment Facility we will de-pollute your vehicle, which includes removing all fluids, tyres & batteries. This process can only be carried out at an Authorised Treatment Facility like P Mullaney & Sons who have all the equipment to comply with the End of Life Vehicle Regulations 2003.
We will process your log book, notify the DVLA and on request issue you with a certificate of destruction.
End of Life Vehicles Regulations
The End of Life Vehicles (ELV) Regulations2003 aims to reduce the amount of waste from scrap vehicles. The Act ensures strict environmental standards for Authorised Treatment Facilities. How much is my scrap car worth?
This is common question we get asked, the amount your scrap car is worth varies. We pay our customers a price per tonne so the value of your car depends how much is weighs. Therefore having a newer more expensive car will not mean that you will get more money than for an old banger, which is often the misconception. What we require from our sellers
– Your name and address
– The Log Book (if selling a vehicle)
– A Photographic UK Driving Licence, Passport or Photographic National Identity Card
PLUS
One of the following documents must be less than 3 months old
– Bank or Building Society Statement
– Credit or Debit Card Statement
– Council Tax Bill
– Utility Bill (not a mobile phone bill)
